Line item / hris integration cost

HRIS integration and connector cost

Most modern HRIS vendors price API access as part of the platform subscription rather than a separate SKU, but per-connector charges and middleware platform fees (Merge.dev, Finch, Workato) add a real year-1 line item. For a 100-person SaaS connecting HRIS to finance, IT, and benefits broker, expect $3,000-$12,000 in year-1 integration spend on top of the HRIS subscription.

Middleware platform pricing

ProviderPricing modelTypical year-1 cost
Merge.devPer-connected-account, tiered$1,200-$8,000
FinchPer-employee per connection, tiered$1,500-$10,000
WorkatoPer-workflow recipe / per-task pricing$10,000-$60,000

Per-vendor connector pricing

Rippling, Workday, ADP, Paylocity, and BambooHR all bundle native API access at no separate charge for in-suite integrations (their own ATS to their own HRIS, for example). Cross-vendor integrations route through middleware. ADP's specific webhook SKU is the exception: it remains a separately-priced add-on in most observed quotes.

Slack, Greenhouse, NetSuite

Slack is universally bundled at no cost (every HRIS publishes a free Slack app). Greenhouse is bundled in vendors that ship native ATS integrations (Rippling, BambooHR, Paylocity); a Greenhouse subscription is required separately. NetSuite integration commonly routes through a paid connector (Boomi, Workato, Celigo) at $5,000-$25,000 year-1.

Realistic year-1 integration line for a 100-person SaaS

Typical stack: HRIS to Greenhouse (free), HRIS to Slack (free), HRIS to Workday Adaptive or NetSuite (paid connector $5K-$12K), HRIS to Carta or Pulley (paid Merge.dev or native $1K-$3K), HRIS to benefits broker (free or $1K-$3K via Finch). Year-1 integration: $7,000-$18,000.
